HONOR OUR HERITAGE. BUILD OUR FUTURE. During Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 to October 15), take action to honor the care Hispanic and Latino people have traditionally shown for one another by focusing on diabetes. Your organization can do something today to help people with diabetes live better lives now and in the future.

Health-related terms and concepts, especially when it comes to the management of diabetes, can be hard to understand. The National Diabetes Education Program (NDEP) works to create materials that use principles of plain language and health literacy that your organization can use in your diabetes outreach activities. Use NDEP resources available in English and Spanish for your activities in Hispanic and Latino communities.

Check the NDEP website often for new resources that honor our heritage and build our future.
