Updated the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders to the fifth edition (cited American Psychiatric Association as reference 4).
Updated the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders to the fifth edition (cited American Psychiatric Association as reference 6). Also revised text to state that the adjustment disorders are characterized by the presence of clinically significant emotional or behavioral symptoms that result in marked distress or significant impairment in social, occupational, or other important areas of functioning. Further revised text to state that the symptoms occur in response to an identifiable psychosocial stressor, are less severe than in diagnosable mental disorders such as major depressive disorder or generalized anxiety disorder, and do not represent normal bereavement.
