Live-Tweeting Event During the Cancer Documentary, Emperor of All Maladies
Join the National Cancer Institute (@theNCI ) and our partners below for a groundbreaking, live-tweeting social media event that will take place during all three nights of the documentary Cancer: The Emperor of All Maladies . Emperor is a three-part, six-hour major television event on PBS presented by documentary filmmaker Ken Burns, in partnership with WETA , based on the 2010 Pulitzer Prize-winning book by Siddhartha Mukherjee. Following up on our three nights of live-tweeting information about the history and present of cancer research and treatment, join the National Cancer Institute and the experts below for an hour-long discussion of the future of cancer research and treatment and what the journal Science designated as its “Breakthrough of the Year” in 2013. Immunotherapy is using the immune system’s natural capacity to detect and destroy abnormal cells may prevent the development of many cancers.
