The meaning of behaviour medicine in the psychosomatic field

Edited by Dr Mutsuhiro Nakao
BioPsychoSocial Medicine
Behavioural medicine is an interdisciplinary field combining medicine, psychology and social science. It is closely related to psychosomatic medicine, in particular the bio-psycho-social aspect of health and illness. Integration of behavioural medicine and psychosomatic medicine would offer new insights in terms of treatment and prevention of diseases. This thematic series in BioPsychoSocial Medicine will summarise the behavioural and social aspects of health and illness in the psychosomatic field. It will also discuss the important role of education in behavioural medicine.
