Hey everyone! Hope you all are staying safe and healthy out there.
So I wanted to share this video with you all that I came across a few months ago. This is a fascinating video, in which a group of people with disabilities discuss topics like ableism, dating, and living with a disability. The idea is to show that within disability communities, people think differently. Panelists in this forum include people with visible and invisible disabilities.
One question that sparks a lot of discussion is about whether or not participants would give up their disability if given the chance. Some vehemently answered yes, while others view their disability as a source of their identity. This conversation in particular is fascinating.
Let me know your thoughts on this video! Is there a particular part of it that sticks out to you? |

Columnist Reflects on What Lessons We Can Glean from this Pandemic

My apologies for the wordy title of this post. I tried to summarize the idea of Bailey’s latest column.
I found this piece to be really provocative. In spite of everything going on with the COVID-19 crisis, the upside is that we’re able to slow down a bit. Bailey writes about how she’s now able to spend more time with family, and can do virtual medical appointments. With so much negativity out there, it helps to find silver linings. Like Bailey said, I too hope our culture can learn to slow down once all this is over.
Do you have any takeaways from this column? |
