President Trump revives call for payroll tax cuts in ‘phase four’ coronavirus relief package |
President Trump on Friday renewed his calls for a broad payroll tax cut as part of a "phase four" coronavirus relief package to ease the economic pain caused by the pandemic.
Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the embattled leader of the World Health Organization, is facing new pressure to explain his relationship with China’s government as the world continues to grapple with the deadly virus. In a letter Thursday, several Republican members of the U.S. House Oversight Committee called on Tedros to explain why he has praised China’s “transparency” during the crisis.
Former Vice President Joe Biden's campaign has recently stepped up its attacks on Trump's pandemic preparedness. However, it was revealed that the Obama administration sought several cuts in funding for the Strategic National Stockpile, which stocks personal protective equipment (PPE) and other critical medical supplies. Some of the reductions were relatively small, and most came after Republicans implemented a new law to restrict federal discretionary spending, records reviewed by Fox News show.
"Significantly higher than expected" traces of coronavirus have been discovered in Massachusetts wastewater, according to a new study, suggesting there may be many more people who are going undiagnosed than previously believed.
And NASA satellite data has shown a 30 percent reduction in atmospheric nitrogen dioxide pollution in the northeastern U.S. during the coronavirus lockdown.
