CONFERENCIA EUROPEA SOBRE ENFERMEDADES RARAS Y PRODUCTOS HUÉRFANOS

The European Conference on Rare Diseases & Orphan Products (ECRD) is the largest multi-stakeholder event in Europe for the rare disease community. The ERCD 2016 Edinburgh will gather more than 800 people to address the issues that matter today and to anticipate the needs of tomorrow, so that innovative and sustainable responses can be developed and delivered for people living with a rare disease.

From this survey, we would like to identify two speakers who will be invited to attend the Conference and deliver a 15-minute presentation in English in session 0601: 'The impact of social media on globalisation: new knowledge generation and advocacy'. This session will take place on Saturday, 28 May from 09.00-10.30.

More information about ECRD 2016 Edinburgh is available here: www.rare-diseases.eu

Do you have an example of a social media campaign that produced a high impact and made a difference for your rare disease community? The examples can include projects, websites, technology that: -generate new knowledge on rare diseases to support advocacy messages -break isolation of patients -report patient reported outcomes/adverse effects -engage a younger audience -increase public awareness -develop research via participation in clinical trials.

An example of such a campaign: Rare Genomics Institute Launches Ten Crowdfunding Campaigns to Help Rare Diseases Patients Find Causes of Their Illnesses: http://www.crowdfundinsider.com/2015/09/74396-rare-genomics-institute-launches-ten-crowdfunding-campaigns-to-help-rare-diseases-patients-find-causes-of-their-illnesses/

We look forward to hearing from you!

Submissions are reviewed by the ECRD theme leaders. You will be contacted if we would like you to speak.

Deadline to respond: 20th November 2015
