Featured Article: Emerging role of lipid metabolism alterations in cancer stem cells

Cancer stem cells (CSCs) represent a small population of cancer cells with self-renewal and tumor-initiating properties. Recent advances in metabolomic detection have expanded knowledge of the contribution of lipid metabolism to the generation and maintenance of CSCs. In this review, Mei Yi et al. summarize the current progress in this field and describe therapeutic agents targeting CSCs based on their modulation of lipid metabolism.
