Nanostructured material technologies can be used to fabricate high-performance biomaterials with tailored physical, chemical, and biological properties. Nanostructural control is found to be a key factor in tailoring the bioavailability of the materials. They are an area of interest for emerging biomedical technologies such as scaffolds, tissue restoration, and controlled drug delivery system. Nanostructured material in tissue engineering explores the fabrication and modification of a variety of nanomaterials and the use of these materials across a range of tissue engineering applications. 
This collection in Biomaterials Research on "nanostructured biomaterials" covers fabrication, characterization of nanostructured materials (nanoparticles, nanofibers, nanowires, nanoporous materials, nanostructured devices) and applications for biomedical and tissue engineering fields.
