Improving Patient-Centered Outcomes in Osteogenesis Imperfecta

Building patient-centered outcomes research in osteogenesis imperfecta Orthpaedic surgeon Laura Tosi, M.D., is the co-lead on a program to improve patient-centered outcomes research and education in osteogenesis imperfecta. The initiative recently received a Eugene Washington Engagement Award of $250,000 from the Patient-Centered Outcomes and Research Institute. Pediatric medical device competition now accepting submissions The official call for submissions is underway for the annual pediatric medical device competition, sponsored by National Capital Consortium for Pediatric Device Innovation. The competition focuses on pediatric devices in three areas: cardiovascular, orthopedic and spine and neonatal intensive care. Children’s National: Starting the new year with strong leadership Three Children’s National Hospital executives are also in leadership roles within professional societies, elected by their peers, further highlighting the strength of the leadership at Children’s National and professional respect within the health care community. Making healthcare innovation for children a priority Recently, Kurt Newman, M.D., president and CEO of Children’s National, authored an opinion piece for the political website, The Hill. In the article, he called upon stakeholders from across the landscape to address the significant innovation gap in children’s healthcare versus adults.
