May is Older Americans Month and this year’s theme is Connect, Create, Contribute! This theme encourages older adults and their communities to:
- Connect with friends, family, and services that support participation.
- Create by engaging in activities that promote learning, health, and personal enrichment.
- Contribute time, talent, and life experience to benefit others.
How can you get started? Try making time to participate in activities you enjoyand include friends and family members when possible.
Try to avoid social isolation and loneliness. NIA-supported researchers are studying the health impact of both social isolation (physical separation from others) and loneliness (the distressed feeling of being alone). Read more about this research and share this infographic with tips for being better connected with others.
