High Five of the Week | September 21, 2020

Below are five ways you can stay engaged, informed, and inspired this week.

For more, check The Michael J. Fox Foundation's
COVID-19 resource hub for information to support the worldwide Parkinson's community through this challenging time, and our virtual public events hub for a complete list of upcoming community-hosted offerings.

As always, we're in this together.

1. Currently Trending: New Therapy for Parkinson’s “Off” Time Reaches FDA

A continuous apomorphine infusion, which aims to treat significant “off” time not controlled with oral Parkinson’s medications, is now with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for review.

2. Celebrate Science HERE: Register for Upcoming Virtual Offerings

This fall, join MJFF for a multitude of virtual offerings to celebrate 20 years of Parkinson’s research progress — and 20 years closer to a cure. Between virtual run/walks and online conversations, there’s something for everyone. Check out our hub for upcoming events and links to register.

3. Parkinson’s Podcast: Previewing the Foundation’s Virtual Offerings for You and Your Family (Part I)

In this episode, we roll out the “orange carpet” and give you a first look at the virtual activities, events and new resources the Foundation is putting together for the fall. Get an insider update on what’s coming down the pike and how you and your family can take part.

4. Virtual Event Spotlight: Bags Bingo

Hosted by Team Sheakin’ for a Cure, Bags Bingo is totally virtual! Purchase raffle tickets and pick your lucky number for a chance to win a designer bag every day during the month of October. All proceeds benefit Team Fox and critical PD research. Email kholden123@gmail.com for details.

5. #TogetherAtHome: Share Your Story

When we come together, we move the needle on research — even when “together” looks a little different. Join us online and share your story about how you are participating in our community to help accelerate a cure for Parkinson’s.
