1. Currently Trending: Five Tips for Caring for Loved Ones with PD During the Pandemic

For many, being a care partner now looks a little different because of changes to virtual doctor visits, in-home support or therapy, and other aspects of caregiving. Care partners in the MJFF community shared their tips on how to care for themselves and their loved ones during the pandemic.
 

 

2. Virtual Event Spotlight: The Michael J. Fox Foundation’s Virtual 5K/10K

Runners and walkers worldwide are encouraged to join the MJFF community to help advance a cure. Tune in for the virtual opening ceremonies on Friday, October 2 at 3 p.m. ET. Participants will have until Sunday, October 4 at 3 p.m. ET to complete 5K or 10K in their neighborhood or on a treadmill.
 

 

3. Third Thursdays Webinar: Is Parkinson’s Inherited?

Register now for our upcoming webinar on September 17 at 12 p.m. ET. Hear panelists discuss what we know about Parkinson’s genetics, how genetic discoveries may lead to treatments that could stop or even prevent disease, and therapies in human testing against genetic targets.
 

 

4. Parkinson’s Podcast: Why Your Advocacy is Key to Advancing Parkinson’s Priorities

In case you missed it, MJFF Patient Council member Larry Gifford leads a conversation about the importance of voicing your Parkinson’s priorities on Capitol Hill and how that might look different during a pandemic. Listen now on demand.
 

 

5. #TogetherAtHome: September is Dystonia Awareness Month

This month, we’re raising visibility of this common movement disorder, which can be a symptom of Parkinson’s. Join us online as we discuss dystonia and Parkinson’s and the available treatment options.
