Noisy Planet reached about 2,000 people this summer through fun and educational exhibits featuring our eye-catching tabletop display. We returned with excitement to the National Association of School Nurses conference in Baltimore, Maryland, to share free, educational materials with school nurses. The team also attended the Senate Health Fair at the Hart Senate Building in Washington, D.C., where we offered hearing health materials to staff and visitors. In addition, Noisy Planet exhibited at the National Trademark Expo at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History. At our booth, participants spun the Q&A wheel and were asked how they would protect their hearing based on the noisy activity the wheel landed on. After they answered the question, participants received a Noisy Planet bookmark.
Remember: Noisy Planet’s Teacher Toolkit is a fun and engaging way to teach kids about noise-induced hearing loss in the classroom. The toolkit includes the 45-minute Noisy Planet PowerPoint classroom presentation, as well as videos and instructions for the interactive activities within the presentation. The Teacher Toolkit has been downloaded almost 300 times, and has been featured on the PBS Learning Media website. The print resources used in the presentation can be downloaded or ordered for free.
We look forward to more classroom presentations and community events in the new school year.
