Are E-Cigarettes a Healthier Alternative Than Tobacco Products?

E-cigarettes come in different shapes and sizes. They are often advertised as an aid to help you quit smoking, but are they really better for you than tobacco cigarettes? Scientists are studying e-cigarettes to understand how using them affects people’s health. Right now, doctors and researchers know that e-cigarettes:
  • usually contain nicotine
  • are harmful for youth, young adults, and pregnant women.  In fact, research has shown a link between vaping and smoking tobacco cigarettes in teens.
  • may contain other harmful substances

It has also been studied for dementia symptoms.
