Yoga is an ancient and complex practice, rooted in Indian philosophy. It began as a spiritual practice but has become popular as a way of promoting physical and mental well-being. There are different styles of yoga, and some positions have even been modified to allow them to be done on a chair, making the practice more accessible to a wider range of participants. Yoga’s popularity among older Americans is growing. About 6.7% of adults age 65 and over practice yoga.
