CDC and Springboard to Active Schools Share New Resources for

Promoting Classroom Physical Activity

CDC and Springboard to Active Schools have developed  new resources for educators to integrate physical activity into the classroom so students are healthy and ready to learn. Classroom physical activity can help students improve concentration and attention, classroom behavior, engagement in learning, and grades.
These resources include:
  • Strategies for Classroom Physical Activity in Schools. This document describes 10 strategies for promoting and planning for classroom physical activity.
  • Integrate Classroom Physical Activity in Schools: A Guide for Putting Strategies into Practice. This guide contains activities, questions, templates, and tools that educators and other physical activity champions can use to help them adopt, promote, enhance, and sustain ideas from the Strategies for Classroom Physical Activity in Schools document.
Check out the resources for school administrators, school staff, parents, and others on the CDC Healthy Schools website.
