Clinical diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases (CvDs) require manually analyzing cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) images – a process that is both time consuming and prone to subjective errors. Researchers trained deep neural networks to perform an automated evaluation of a large dataset from the UK Biobank Resource. The study demonstrates a comparable performance of the automated analysis of CMR images to those of clinical experts, suggesting a future of machine learning facilitated CMR analysis.
