The Alerts and Advisories page on the NCCIH website provides up-to-date information on recalls, tainted products, and other safety problems related to dietary supplements. These notices come from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Federal Trade Commission, and other agencies.

If you look at recent alerts, you’ll see that a new type of problem has been reported in 2019: unsubstantiated claims that cannabidiol (CBD) products can treat diseases.

There were also many reports in 2019 of hidden drug ingredients in products sold as dietary supplements, particularly products marketed for weight loss or sexual enhancement.
