What’s New in Mind and Body Research

As we near the end of 2019, let’s look at the results of some NCCIH-funded studies of mind and body practices published this year. One study provided preliminary evidence that a mindfulness-based group therapy program may be helpful for people with opioid use disorder and chronic pain who are in methadone maintenance therapy. Another study reported on improvements in methods for controlling a robotic arm through mental signals. The results of an animal study indicated that modeled manual therapy may protect against repetitive motion pain. An analysis of Medicare data showed that access to chiropractic care may reduce medical spending on treatment of spine conditions.  Want to read about more NCCIH-funded research?
