NIH Clinical Trial to Track Outcomes of Liver Transplantation From HIV-Positive Donors to HIV-Positive Recipients

On National Donor Day, NIAID announces the launch of the first large-scale clinical trial to study liver transplantations between people with HIV. The NIAID-supported HOPE in Action Multicenter Liver Study will determine the safety of this practice by evaluating liver recipients for potential transplant-related and HIV-related complications following surgery.
