February 4, 2019
D. Craig Hopp, Ph.D.
I am pleased to inform you about three exciting funding opportunity announcements (FOAs) and related technical assistance webinars to assist applicants. These FOAs, announced in late January, include the Botanical Dietary Supplement Research Centers, the Center for Natural Product Technology Methodology and Productivity Optimization, and the Natural Products NMR Open Data Exchange. Collectively, these initiatives form the Centers for Advancing Research on Botanicals and Other Natural Products (CARBON) Program. The Program is a partnership between the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements and NCCIH.

Twenty-four NIH components invite applications to Alzheimer's-focused administrative supplements for NIH grants that are not focused on Alzheimer's disease. These supplements will expand existing awards that are not currently focused on Alzheimer’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease related dementias (ADRD), to allow them to develop a focus on ADRD. Active awards with project end dates in FY 2020 or later are eligible. Requests must be received by February 26, 5 p.m. local time of the applicant organization for funding in FY 2019.
