Webinar on Healthy People 2020 Clinical Preventive Services Leading Health Indicators - Colorectal Cancer Screening

Webinar: Who’s Leading the Leading Health Indicators? Clinical Preventive Services

Man and woman meeting with the doctor
Learn about the progress toward achieving the Healthy People 2020 Clinical Preventive Services Leading Health Indicators (LHIs) with this webinar, “Who’s Leading the Leading Health Indicators? Clinical Preventive Services.” Clinical preventive services, such as routine disease screening and scheduled immunizations, are central to reducing death and disability and improving health. LHIs help assess the nation’s health, assist in collaboration across sectors, and encourage action to improve the health of the U.S. population. This webinar will focus on colorectal cancer screening.

Dr. Lisa Richardson, Director of CDC’s Division of Cancer Prevention and Control will provide the Federal subject matter expert presentation for the webinar. Dr. Richardson will share the progress and next steps for CDC's Colorectal Cancer Control Program (CRCCP), showing significant decreases in colorectal cancer incidence and mortality, due, in part, to increased screening and evidence-based interventions that provide an effective, low-cost means for increasing screening uptake. The New York State Department of Health—a CRCCP awardee—will discuss their efforts to implement these interventions and reduce the burden of colorectal cancer throughout their state.
