Ciertas destrezas como dar el primer paso, sonreír por primera vez y mover la mano para decir adiós se denominan indicadores del desarrollo. Cada niño alcanza estos indicadores importantes en áreas como el juego, el aprendizaje, el habla, la conducta y el movimiento (gatear, caminar, etc.).
