New from NCI Gene Tied to Alzheimer May Be Linked with Chemobrain   Early research findings may shed light on genetic risk factors for developing cancer-related problems with thinking and memory in older breast cancer survivors. The results suggest a gene linked with Alzheimer disease may play a role. Chemotherapy and You: Support for People with Cancer   The popular patient education publication, "Chemotherapy and You: Support for People with Cancer," has a new look and refreshed content. In particular, we have added information about home precautions. Menopausal Hormone Therapy and Cancer Menopausal hormone therapy is treatment with hormones intended to help relieve symptoms of menopause. This updated fact sheet covers research results on menopausal hormone therapy and includes information about benefits, risks, and how it affects the body. Blood Test Shows Promise for Detecting Genetic Changes in Brain Tumors A liquid biopsy blood test can detect DNA from brain tumors called diffuse midline gliomas, researchers have found. This minimally invasive test could be used to identify and follow changes in the genes of children with these highly lethal brain tumors. PDQ Summary Updates Breast Cancer Screening We updated our PDQ summary on breast cancer screening with many revisions to all sections of the summary. Testicular Cancer Treatment We revised our PDQ summary on testicular cancer treatment with updated descriptions of the different stages of this disease. Drug Information Updates New Drug for Hairy Cell Leukemia We added a new drug information summary for moxetumomab pasudotox-tdfk (Lumoxiti). It was recently approved by the Food and Drug Administration for adults with hairy cell leukemia that has come back or does not respond to treatment after at least two other systemic therapies.
