Featured review: Emerging roles of Myc in stem cell biology and novel tumor therapies
c-Myc, N-Myc, and L-Myc are encoded by the proto-oncogene family and are essential transcription factors which belong to the superfamily of basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) DNA-binding proteins, and are necessary for fundamental cellular activity. In this review, Go Yoshida discusses the pathophysiological roles of these three members of the Myc family, as well as their therapeutic potentials.
