Los músculos lo ayudan a moverse y forman parte del funcionamiento del cuerpo. Los distintos tipos de músculos tienen funciones diferentes. Existen muchos problemas que pueden afectar a los músculos. Las enfermedades musculares pueden causar debilidad, dolor o inclusive parálisis.
Algunas causas conocidas son:
- Lesiones o exceso de uso, como en torceduras y distensiones, calambres o tendinitis
- Genéticas, como la distrofia muscular
- Cáncer
- Inflamación, como la miositis
- Enfermedades de los nervios que afectan a los músculos
- Infecciones
- Algunas medicinas
Otras veces, la causa se desconoce.

Your muscles help you move and help your body work. Different types of muscles have different jobs. There are many problems that can affect muscles. Muscle disorders can cause weakness, pain or even paralysis.
Causes of muscle disorders include
- Injury or overuse, such as sprains or strains, cramps or tendinitis
- A genetic disorder, such as muscular dystrophy
- Some cancers
- Inflammation, such as myositis
- Diseases of nerves that affect muscles
- Infections
- Certain medicines
Sometimes the cause is not known.
